Tom joined Marvin and Company, PC as a Principal in December 2016. He has nearly 30 years of diversified public accounting experience in auditing, management consulting services, and personal income tax. Tom specializes in and provides a substantial amount of accounting and auditing services to public charity not-for-profit organizations, including financial statement audits, single audits, and return preparation.
Tom graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA-Accounting degree from Siena College in 1992. Prior to joining Marvin, Tom was the managing partner with Lubbe & Hosey, PC since 2003.
Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Looking to deepen his existing knowledge of not-for-profit financial responsibility, and set himself apart as a leader in this field, Tom has earned the AICPA’s badge for completing the Not-For-Profit Certificate II Program which challenges experienced professionals who serve not-for-profit organizations to deepen their knowledge, prove proficiency and elevate their level of service by remaining current on laws and regulations governing not-for-profits and applying them to complex situations.
Additionally, Tom has earned the AICPA's badge for completing the Advanced Single Audit Certificate Program. The certificate is designed for CPA's specializing in single audits and demonstrates an advanced competency level as outlined in the AICPA Competency Framework: Governmental Auditing, which states: CPAs are expected to maintain a level of competence to meet the profession’s technical and ethical standards and provide valuable services to the public, employers and clients. Competence represents the attainment and maintenance of a level of understanding and knowledge that enables CPAs to render services with facility and acumen.
