Marvin and Company, P.C., a Capital Region-based firm offering services in accounting, auditing, taxation and management consulting, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 2016 Top Workplaces honor by The Times Union. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits.” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
“This achievement powerfully demonstrates the ongoing commitment of our team members and it’s an honor to once again receive this recognition,” said Kevin J. McCoy, the firm’s managing partner. “We pride ourselves on having created a culture where employees work hard, see the results of their contribution and have fun in the process. We are proud of the great people on our Team and sincerely thank them for their contributions.”
Marvin and Company, now in its 10th decade serving the regional business community from its headquarters in Latham and additional office in Queensbury, is committed to making investments in training, professional development, work/life balance, and other benefits to support our people, McCoy noted.
Marvin and Company provides employees with many benefits including; flexible hours/schedule, 100% individual health insurance benefit coverage, community service time off, charity dress down Fridays, social events (e.g. happy hours, barbeques, summer outings, Siena basketball games, holiday party, end of busy season party), referral bonus program, and highly competitive compensation and benefits. Marvin and Company also contributes to more than 100 not-for-profit organizations throughout New York State through sponsorships and community service.
The Marvin culture unifies the firm to work as a team toward the same goal—the highest level of client satisfaction. Hard work is not only appreciated, but rewarded. As a result, they have achieved high employee retention and development, with many employees at the firm for more than 20 years.
The Albany Times Union published the complete list of Top Workplaces on Thursday, April 7, 2016.
