City of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Marvin and Company, P.C. Tax Director Kevin P. O'Leary, CPA
In business and in life, making a difference is what it’s all about. In commemoration of our 95th year of service, we asked ourselves how each Marvin & Company employee might demonstrate that commitment in their own way, through their own personal lens. The answer (fittingly for a CPA firm) was numerical: 95. Specifically, $95 – the amount each Marvin & Company employee has been allotted in commemoration of the occasion to make a difference at some point during 2018. Whether through donations to charitable organizations, random acts of kindness, or other actions we have yet to foresee, each My95 story will be unique—and our Marvin and Company family will share them via social media throughout the year.
“I am honored to be here to congratulate you on this huge milestone, 95 years in business, which is something to be celebrated”, said Mayor Kathy Sheehan. “Thank you for your economic and civic contributions to the city.”
“The occasion of our 95th anniversary provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the people who have made a lasting difference at every stage of our evolution and growth—our clients and our people,” said Kevin P. O’Leary, Tax Director and member of the Executive Committee at Marvin and Company, P.C. “We have built our firm on the principle of community service and believe that our success is shaped by the success of the communities in which we live and work. The My95 campaign is the perfect way to demonstrate our commitment to that core principle.”
Marvin and Company, P.C., one of the Capital Region’s leading accounting, auditing, taxation and management consulting firms, was founded in 1923 by Charles L. Marvin who opened an office at 12 Jay Street in Schenectady. Today the company employs 70 people in offices in Latham and Queensbury, NY.
The proclamation stated:
