Employee Earns Bonus for Passing CPA Exam

Posted on: 4/8/19 by Kevin P. O'Leary, CPA

Getting employees to sit for and pass the Uniform CPA Examination can be a challenge at some firms. Marvin and Company, P.C. has instituted an incentive program to encourage test-taking.

Staff members are eligible to receive a bonus of up to $5,000 if, by the end of the first twelve months or twenty-four months of graduation from college they meet all the qualifications to be issued a CPA license and submit their application to the NYS Education Department, according to Kevin P. O'Leary, CPA, Managing Partner. "We believe that it is important for our professional staff to obtain their CPA license," O'Leary said. "Not only for their personal development and advancement, but also for the enhanced skills and knowledge they can provide to our clients."

Passing all four sections -- 1) Financial Accounting and Reporting 2) Auditing and Attestation 3) Regulation and 4) Business Environment and Concepts -- officially certifies accountants who have also completed the required 150 hours of accounting education.

We are proud to announce that tax associate Timothy M. Parkes, having passed all four parts of the CPA exam, will be receiving a bonus. Congratulations Tim!
