Marvin and Company, P.C., one of the Capital Region’s leading accounting, auditing, taxation and management consulting firms, continues to grow and is pleased to announce the addition of five new hires to its team.

Andrew A. Matthews, CPA joins the audit department as an Assurance Manager. Andy earned his Bachelors from the University of Connecticut along with a Certificate in Accounting from Siena College. He specializes in commercial businesses and employee benefit plans. Andy comes to Marvin and Company with nearly 20 years of accounting experience. He was most recently an Audit Manager for BST & Co. CPAs, LLP, where he focused primarily on commercial businesses and employee benefit plans. Prior to that he was with UHY, LLP, where he focused on not-for-profits and higher education as well as commercial businesses and employee benefit plans. Andy is currently the treasurer for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
Brandon Smith joins the audit department as a Senior Assurance Associate. He was previously with The Bonadio Group where he was an Audit Experienced Assistant focusing on Government, Compliance and Labor. He was also a previous Tax Intern for General Electric and a Tax Clerk for the Capital Communications Federal Credit Union. Brandon received his Masters in Accounting from Siena College. He plays hockey for Albany Area Hockey clubs and was also a volunteer firefighter for the Slingerlands Fire Department.
Matthew L. Burnell joins Marvin and Company as a Senior Tax Associate. Matt previously worked for the AYCO as a Financial Planner. Matt is experienced in areas such as Estate Planning, Advanced Personal, Gift, Trust, Estate Taxation and Investment Management. He has earned his Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and is currently pursuing his MBA with a Tax Focus from SUNY Albany.
Phillip J. Zdanowski joins Marvin and Company as an Audit Associate. He earned his Masters and Bachelors in Accounting from the College of St. Rose. He was a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society and earned a Certificate in Forensic Accounting. Phil was a resident assistant at the college and played baseball on the St. Rose team for 4 years where he earned several accolades, including the colleges Man of the Year award, Male Athlete of the Year nominee, NorthEast-10 Baseball Conference Spring academic All-Conference award, Capital One Academic All-District honoree and Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Week award.
Aliaksandra Khutsko joins Marvin and Company as an Audit Associate. Alex earned her Bachelors in Accounting from the Sage College of Albany and is currently pursuing her MBA with Concentration in Finance from the same institution. She was most recently an intern with the NYS Department of Health- Finance and Rate Setting Division. She is trilingual in Russian, Belarussian and English.
