Marvin and Company has been involved in the rehabilitation industry since 1968, and we recognize that rehabilitation organizations have a unique set of accounting and auditing needs. Because of our decades of industry experience, the rehabilitation industry is truly part of our culture. Thus, we can help you identify the issues that are critical to your organization’s success.
Rehabilitation Industry Experience
Our rehabilitation industry experience includes having represented various organizations that are regulated by New York State funding agencies such as the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and the State Education Department (SED).
Annually, all of our audit and accounting staff attend an in-house training seminar on rehabilitation organizations,
the current issues facing the industry, with a focus on the auditing and accounting issues surrounding those areas. We have worked with the New York State Rehabilitation Association and the Financial Manager’s Association for numerous years, and through these organizations, our staff have participated in workshops, industry meetings, presented at their conferences and sponsored their activities. We are dedicated to the rehabilitation industry and
will continue to stay on top of the latest issues that affect it.
Accounting and Audit Services for the Rehabilitation Industry
Most of our accounting and audit professional staff work on not-for-profit engagements, many exclusively. As a firm, we take great care to provide only the highest quality audit work for our clients. In each of our peer review reports over the last 36 years, our firm has received an unmodified report, underscoring our commitment to quality. View our latest report here.
HUD Audit Services
We have significant experience managing the special audit requirements of section 202 and 811 housing projects that receive funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
In addition to these services, we can be an active participant in your HUD compliance. We can help you avoid limited denials of participation, suspensions and debarments. Let our team guide you through these challenges as well as the helping you manage other issues such as federal and state regulations and multiple funding sources.
Let us put our history of shaping rehabilitation organizations’ futures to work for your organization. If you would like to learn more about our rehabilitation industry accounting services, please contact Heather Lewis at 518-785-0134
